For financial advisors.
Household Ledger — professional bookkeeping for your clients' personal finances.
Walk into planning conversations with real, categorized numbers — without doing the data gathering yourself. We set your clients up in Monarch Money, organize and categorize their accounts, and deliver a and deliver a clear monthly picture to them — and, with their permission, to you.
The problem
The plan is only as good as the spending number underneath it.
You know the meeting. You ask what they spend each month and get a shrug and a guess that's off by a third. Retirement timelines, insurance needs, savings targets — all of it sits on top of that number.
Data gathering is the least billable, least enjoyable part of planning, and it's where the process stalls. That's the part we take.
What your clients get
Guided setup in Monarch Money — they connect their accounts on a screen share with us, including the ones no app can reach: private notes, family loans, assets held outside the banking system
Every transaction categorized by a human bookkeeper, not an algorithm's best guess
After a setup session and one short email, their part is done
A monthly cash flow statement and net worth summary, plus notes from their bookkeeper — including what's behind any number that looks unusual
We ask the questions an app can't. Dormant accounts with autopays still running. The HSA nobody thinks of as an account. A loan to a family member. These are the gaps that quietly distort a plan, and they surface in conversation, not on a form
We show our work. Every delivery reports how many transactions we reviewed, how many we corrected, and how many accounts we added that no automated connection could reach

A sample monthly cash flow statement. Every client also receives a net worth summary and a short written review of what changed.
A sample net worth summary. Manual entries — private notes, family loans, assets outside the banking system — appear here alongside connected accounts.
How the handoff works
1. You send the link. Your client gets heartandledger.com/household. The page opens by naming the referral — "Referred by your financial advisor? You're in the right place" — so they land knowing why they're there. No forwarding instructions, no attachment, nothing to remember.
2. They book directly. A 15-minute call, then setup. Your client engages us and pays us directly — you're never in the middle of the transaction.
3. You get the picture too. With your client's written OK, their statement package goes to you as well. Your next planning conversation starts from their real numbers.
4. Your meetings get easier. Reviews start from categorized data instead of a data-gathering session.
The real payoff is what happens after setup.
Once a client has their first statements in hand, we offer them monthly continuation — same work, kept current. (You'll notice their page doesn't price a monthly service. That's deliberate: the offer lands better against a delivered result than a promise.)
Here's why you should hope they say yes. When a client continues monthly and shares their statements with you, you see changes as they happen instead of at the annual review:
An income jump that should trigger a savings-rate conversation
A home sale sitting in the accounts as cash, waiting for a plan
New recurring debt that changes the risk picture
Spending drift that quietly moves a retirement date
You stop prying the update out of clients and start responding to real events. If a client asks you whether continuing is worth it, your answer is the one that decides it.
What it costs your client
$500, one-time, for full setup through their first statement package — their Monarch Money subscription is carried by us through delivery. Monthly continuation is offered after that, typically $200/month for most households; larger households (many accounts, heavy volume) are quoted individually. If they continue, we keep carrying the Monarch subscription; if not, we close it out at delivery — their statements are theirs permanently, and nothing recurring is left in your client's name. No contracts at any point, and you'll never be surprised by what a client you sent us is paying.
Clean lines, by design
Direct engagement. Your client hires us and pays us directly. We don't pay referral fees and we don't share revenue — there is no compensation arrangement between us.
Bookkeeping only. We don't sell products or manage assets. No investment, tax, or legal advice. The planning is yours.
One answer, every time. If a client asks us a planning question, they hear the same thing: ask your advisor.
